Wisconsin's LGBTQ+ students reported higher rates of depression and suicidal thoughts than their peers in the most recent Youth Risk Behavior Survey. Creating safe and supportive environments for all youth, including those who identify as LGBTQ+, helps avoid activities that can negatively affect their health and education.

LGBT Center for SE Wisconsin - The mission of LGBT Center is to empower SE Wisconsin to create a safe and inclusive home for LGBTQ+ communities. Vision: An inclusive, thriving community where LGBTQ+ people are welcomed and affirmed.

Fair Wisconsin - Fair Wisconsin Inc. works to build a fair, safe, and inclusive Wisconsin for all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people by advancing, achieving, and protecting LGBT+ civil rights through lobbying, legislative advocacy, grassroots organizing, coalition building and electoral involvement.

LGBT National Help Center and Hotline - The center provides a safe space that is anonymous and confidential where callers can speak on many different issues and concerns including, but limited to, coming out issues, gender and/or sexuality identities, relationship concerns, bullying, workplace issues, HIV/AIDS anxiety, safer sex information, suicide, and much more. The LGBT National Hotline is staffed by highly trained volunteers who identify somewhere on the LGBTQ spectrum, from all ages, walks of life and from all over the United States. 888-843-4564.  

The Trevor Project - Founded in 1998, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25. TrevorLifeline 1-866-488-7386.

GSAFE - GSAFE increases the capacity of LGBTQ+ youth and students, educational staff, and families to create school environments where all LGBTQ+ youth and students thrive. 

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) - Through research, educational efforts and outreach, HRC encourages lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning Americans to live their lives openly and seeks to change the hearts and minds of Americans to the side of equality.

Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Teens: Facts for Teens and Their Parents - This article presented by the American Academy of Pediatrics explores helpful information to help discover more about kids,their friends, and one's place in the world. There also is information that may help parents understand what their kids are going through better.
